Note: all tuning, editing, timing, etc. should be done prior to sending the files for mixing.
Export
1. File specifications
Format — .WAV or .AIFF
Sample rate — same as the project
Bit depth — 24 or 32-bit. Please avoid 16-bit
2. Processing
Bounce the production tracks (instrumental tracks, ad libs, etc.) exactly as they are in the project. No need to disable any plugins or automation.
3. Lead vocals
Keep your compressor, EQ, de-esser, automation, etc. on, or send an unprocessed version if you prefer.
Reverbs/delays/doublers should be either off or printed separately, if possible.
Pro Tools & Logic Pro Users
Pro Tools and Logic Pro sessions can be provided upon request and prior agreement. Please commit all MIDI tracks and virtual instruments to audio before sending, and ensure any pitch correction using Melodyne, Auto-Tune, etc. is fully rendered/committed.
Rough Mix
Please make sure the tracks you export match your rough mix as closely as possible. Unless you tell me otherwise, I'll assume you're generally happy with the rough mix you provide, and that it should serve as the main reference for guiding mixing decisions.
